Grace Chen was an ESL student from kindergarten until second grade in Pennsylvania. She loved it and learned so much that she was inspired from an early age to pursue a teaching career. That is why she has two goals as a teacher: to help students gain the knowledge they need and enjoy the process at the same time. Her passion for literature led her to get a B.A. in English at UCLA, and her desire to give ESL students the same opportunities she had as a child kept her going to pursue an M.A. at SFSU to teach English (as a second language). Grace is currently teaching at an intensive English school, where she has had the opportunity to get to know students of all backgrounds and ages. She hopes that wherever she ends up teaching in the future, she will be able to make students as passionate about exploring English as she is about teaching it.
